The Works..., with an Essay on His Life and Genius, by Arthur Murphy, 6 vols., new ed., Dublin: Luke White, 1793, engraved portrait frontispiece to first volume, old library ink stamp to verso of frontispiece, also to verso of titles and at foot of final leaf of each volume with some show-through (also to a few other leaves), occasional light marginal worming to few leaves, library bookplate, contemporary marbled calf gilt, worn, 8vo, together with: Johnson (Samuel). The Works of Samuel Johnson, 12 volumes, new edition, H. Baldwin, J. Johnson, G. G. and J. Robinson [& others], 1801, engraved portrait frontispiece to first volume, some damp staining, armorial bookplate of John William Pease to upper pastedowns, contemporary half calf, gilt decorated spines with brown morocco labels, joints cracked, few spines with loss at head and foot, 8vo, Johnson (Samuel), Debates in Parliament, 2 volumes, London: John Stockdale, 1787, old ink stamp to each side of titles and at foot of final leaf, library bookplate and ink stamp to endpapers, contemporary marbled calf, worn, 8vo, plus other Johnson related including Letters to and from the Late Samuel Johnson... to which are added some poems never before printed. Published from the original MSS. in her possession by Hester Lynch Piozzi, 2 volumes, London: A. Strahan and T. Cadell, 1788, contemporary calf-backed marbled boards, spine to first volume torn with loss, worn, 8vo, and Prefaces, Biographical and Critical, to the English Poets, by Samuel Johnson, volumes 1-7 & 9-10 only, 1779-81, contemporary calf, faint library numbers to spines, worn with two boards detached, small 8vo (Quantity: 31)
