Beschreibung:

JOHN LENNON A page of partial typed and annotated lyrics for "Whatever Gets You Thru The Night", from the 1974 album Walls And Bridges , (Lennon's only number one song as a solo artist;) on the reverse side of Apple Records stationery. Handwritten by John Lennon above the first verse Whatever gets you thru the night , in the middle of the chorus don't need a watch or to waste your time , above the second chorus whoever? Together with typed and annotated lyrics for "What You Got", also from Walls And Bridges , on the reverse side of National Committee For John And Yoko stationery; with several pencil parenthesis, in black and blue ink the lyric changes (you know) the more it changes/the more it stays the same ; the word null and you gotta cut the string . Accompanied by photographer Bob Gruen's black and white phototograph of John Lennon and Elton John at the Record Plant recording studio in New York City the evening they recorded; with both artists at the piano, the typed and annotated lyric sheet for "Whatever Gets You Thru The Night" perched on the piano's music stand between them; handwritten on the lower left mat, John Lennon & Elton John-NYC-1974 and signed Bob Gruen NYC '97 , who was present that evening-- 8 x 10 in. After meeting in 1973 in Los Angeles, John Lennon asked Elton John to contribute vocals and keyboards to his upcoming Walls And Bridges album; in return, Lennon joined Elton John as he recorded "Lucy In The Sky With Diamonds". The two struck a deal: if Walls And Bridges hit number one on the music charts, John Lennon would appear live with Elton John, and on November 28, 1974, the former Beatle made his last public appearance at Elton John's Madison Square Garden concert in New York.
