John Dickson & Son under lever Rook rifle with ejectors, .300 cal., inscribedJ. Dickson & Son 63 Princes St., Edinburgh, with a one-leaf platinum-lined sight, an engine turned receiver with a crest on the left side, a checkered pistol grip, a burl walnut stock with a steel cap and a machine turned butt plate, serial#8696, 24 1/4" ovoid barrel.C&R Condition:The barrel retains approximately 60% of blue and the bore shows strong rifling. The receiver and butt plate are engine turned and the right side has makers mark. The screws show wear, but fit well. There is scroll engraving on the under lever and tang. The checkering is worn, but still clear and the fore end has 1 1/2" chip out of the left top end. The rest of the walnut has normal handling marks. The "Dickson" labeled, period case appears to have been relined. Very good condition.
