Signé "Jean Dunand", en bas à gauche. 1,5 x 61,5 x 57 cm (anciennes restaurations) Historique : A l’instar de Ruhlmann ou Janniot, Jean Dunand participa dans l’entre-deux-Guerres à la décoration des grands paquebots transatlantiques, dont le célèbre Normandie (inauguré en 1935). Ce panneau « La Pêche » est une des réductions originales que réalisa Dunand de ses décors monumentaux sculptés à la manière des bas-relief Egyptiens, dans des dimensions adaptées à l’habitat citadin d’une riche clientèle. Signed "Jean Dunand" on the bottom left. 0,59 x 24,21 x 22,44 inch (ancient restorations) History : In the period between the two World Wars, and like Ruhlmann or Janniot, Jean Dunand participate to the decoration of the great transatlantic liners, among which the most famous Normandie (unveiled in 1935). This "Fishing" plate is one of the original reducing Dunand did of his monumental decorations carved in the manner of the Egyptian bas-relief, in suitable size for the urban habitat of wealthy customers.
