James Horton RBA (British, 20th Century) A Rainy Day in Bundi, Rajasthan signed lower right "J V Horton" oil on board h:37 w:29 cm Exhibited: The Mall Galleries, London, 2010 James Horton studied at the Royal College of Art, leaving in 1974 to begin a career as a professional artist. Shortly afterwards he was elected to the Royal Society of British Artists where he is now President. In 2002, he accompanied HRH Prince Charles to Mount Athos as artist in residence with a brief to paint the monastery architecture. James has written several books and articles on painting techniques and holds regular classes in his studio in Cambridge and abroad. He believes in the traditional ethos that it is better to work from life in a variety of media. James Horton has made several painting trips to India and holds teaching classes there. Framed in a painted green frame. Painting is in good condition
