Lot of 5 imprints related to the deaths and funerals of United States Presidents James Garfield William McKinley and Ronald Reagan, including: Printed invitation to participate in the obsequies of President James A. Garfield, 6.25 x 9.5 in., framed to 11.75 x 15 in. Addressed to Masonic members of Oriental Lodge No. 144 and issued by James Simpson Chairman of the Committee on Invitations. Garfield's funeral was held on September 26, 1881 in Cleveland, Ohio, and Knights Templar groups from around the country gathered with soldiers, statesmen, and other dignitaries to participate in the procession honoring their fallen brother. Printed memorial card, 9.75 x 6 in., framed to 17 x 19 in., announcing a service held for Garfield on February 27, 1882, with eulogy delivered by Representative James G. Blaine. Features a half-bust engraving of Garfield at center surrounded by six flags, a sword, and a bugle and cannon, with the White House and Capitol Building visible in the background. Signed in facsimile by James Sherman, Chairman of the Senate Committee, and William McKinley then Chairman of the House Committee. Printed by the U.S. Bureau of Engraving and Printing. Areas of spotting and staining. Memorial Address, Life and Character of James A. Garfield, President of the United States, by James G. Blaine, February 27, 1882. 4to, 85ppm, with black intaglio frontispiece bearing a variation of the Bureau of Engraving and Printing memorial card, absent of black border. Contains the full text of the eulogy Blaine delivered following Garfield's assassination by Charles Guiteau on July 22, 1881 at a railway station in Washington, DC. Engraved funeral tribute to William McKinley 16 x 20 in., (sight), framed to 18 x 22 in., n.d., ca 1901. Features a portrait of McKinley at center, surrounded by a chronology, his last words, and biblical quotes. The text above the portrait reads "Not lost but gone before," with the President's last words reproduced below: "Good hope all, good bye! It's God's way, his will be done, not ours." Commemorative "Blue Line" presidential proclamation, no. 7994, 9 x 13.75 in. (sight), framed to 17 x 24 in., issued and signed by George W. Bush on June 6, 2004 to announce the death of Ronald Reagan the day before. Features gold presidential seal at top and is signed twice (once in facsimile) by Bush. Authentic signature appears in black felt-tip pen as "George W. Bush" to the left of the facsimile.
