Provenance : contemporary ms corrections on pp. 14-15 -- Robert Stratten Holmes (ownership signature on front endpaper dated Liverpool, 7.3.[18]87) -- C.E.M. Wilson (Eagar Catalogue note). Exhibited : Tunbridge Wells Cricket Exhibition. An apparent reissue or reimpression of the 1770 edition (fourth printing) with new title-page. Horace Walpole's copy has the date of publication altered to March, 1771, in manuscript. VERY SCARCE. ESTC locates 5 copies of this issue with the extended subtitle, 2 in the UK (BL and Bodleian), and 3 in North America. cf. Padwick 6445.
