JAMES CAMPBELL NOBLE RSA (SCOTTISH 1846 - 1913) DISTANT PUFFER oil on canvas, signed 41cm x 51cm note: Born Edinburgh and studied at the RSA Schools where he was influenced by George Chalmers In the early 1880s he settled in the Berwickshire village of Coldingham and began painting in the local area. After a visit to Holland in 1875, his work began to show the influences of the Dutch 19th Century School.
