The first English and first UK edition of this important work and substantially scarcer than the US edition which was published simultaneously and was identical apart from having a dustwrapper rather than the slipcase. Contains 4 original lithographs specially executed for this book (and frequently removed for framing), one of which is in full colour (all illustrated here), printed by Mourlot in France. 154 pages including 103 full page reproductions in black and white and colour of bullfighting scenes. Apart from some sunning of the cloth spine, some offsetting on the front free endpaper and a small bookseller's label on its verso, this is a fine bright unmarked copy. Enclosed in the original custom slipcase which is a little worn and faded and has a 5cm. piece missing from the one edge (see image).
