Their designs, industrial in appearance, boasted strong angles, moveable flaps and exposed screws, and incorporated affordable materials like aluminum and Ebonite, a composite used in the production of early bowling balls. These lamps, like the present lot, resembled machines not only in appearance but also in function: the bulb can be dimmed or exposed by moving various panels.
