('Agnetis' partially erased from fourth line on first page with resultant small hole, single wormhole running throughout.) 18th-century marbled sheep, gilt ownership stamp on upper cover, oval arabesque on the lower (rubbed and scuffed). Provenance : Würzburg, Engelgarten, Carthusians (binding stamped Cartusiae Hortae Angelorum ; Robert B. Hale, Alderley, Glos. (bookplates); F.Fasting, Rio de Janeiro (ink stamp). FIRST EDITION. Evidence of an early index tab on the first leaf indicates that this work formed part of a larger Sammelband . It can be dated from the Uppsala copy which is known to have been bought in 1474.
