Np, circa 1890. The images each approximately 4 ½ x 7 ½ inches, 110x185 mm; the album measuring 7x10 inches, 175x255 mm. Each image numbered and captioned in the negative, and with three signed WHJ & Co in the negative. Contemporary pebbled cloth, stamped in gilt on the upper cover “Photographs” and with the album maker's label on the rear pastedown. Condition: Minor fingersoiling and age toning to the mounts, the photographs generally in very good condition; minor wear to the covers. a fine album of colorado images by the pioneer photographer of the american west. The images depict several towns, including a street scene in Colorado Springs and “bird's-eye” views of Durango and Silverton. The photographs mostly consist of images of mountains and railroads.
