The second volume of the BSI history project series, this work contains a collection of essays, letters, articles and other material dealing with the early days of the Baker Street Irregulars, the world's first Sherlockian organization founded in 1934.Less than three months after the publication announcement, the entire run was sold out, with none for sale at the BSI dinner in January where many Irregulars had expected to purchase it, making it the scarcest volume of the series. The volume includes an unpublished memoir of Christopher Morley, founder of the Baker Street Irregulars; Alexander Woolcott's "New Yorker" article on the Baker Street Irregulars and Frederic Dorr Steele's on Sherlock Holmes in pictures; a Sherlock Holmes crossword puzzle; the 1936 BSI dinner programme with names of attendees; and correspondence with Chicago bookman Vincent Starrett.
