Sie trug zur Verbreitung der Theorien von Leibniz und ihre 1756 posthum veröffentlichte Übersetzung von Newtons Principia gilt bis heute als Standardübersetzung ins Französische. She contributed to the circulation of Leibniz's theories and her translation of Newton's Principia, published posthumously in 1756, is still considered the standard translation into French. Her commentary contains a profound contribution to Newtonian mechanics. She also called for the participation of women in all human rights. - The Institutions de Physique contain an overview of the new scientific and philosophical ideas and gave rise to vivid controversy in intellectual circles. - Contemporary calf with gilt title and rich gilt tooling to the spine (somewhat rubbed, corners slightly bumped). - Browned or brownstained in places. Few leaves slightly torn in the gutter. Altogether beautiful copy.
