Quibus accesserunt ...Palaephati de fabulosis narrationibus ..., Basle: Joannes Hervagius, 1535, 2°, editio princeps of the Fabulae and the only authority for the text, device on title and verso of final leaf, 40 astronomical woodcuts, large and small initials, pages ruled in red (title soiled and becoming detached, also with old repair at outer margin, e8 torn with loss of marginal headings, f5 and f6 clealy torn, i5 with clean but deep tear, some marginal soiling), 18th-century English calf (rebacked, but spine again becoming worn). [This edition not in Adams] Provenance : Owen Brigstock Esq. His book 1736 , inscription on frotn pastedown; Howes Catalogue 143, no. 1024 at f12-12-0.
