This work on algorism, first published Cologne 1501, is divided into four 'tractati', containing the fundamental operations through evolution, a brief treatment of abacus or line reckoning, common fractions, rule of three, partnership, and over twenty miscellaneous rules. Huswirt was "a German arithmetician of c. 1500. The name Sanensis suggest his birthplace as Sayn in the Westerwald, and the problems relate to places in that vicinity. Nothing is known of his life" (Smith Rara Arithmetica , p. 74).
