(One text leaf torn with loss, some staining and spotting, title creased and repaired.) Finely-bound in 19th-century scarlet morocco gilt, spine gilt in compartments, gilt edges. With 6 other books of related interest including William Gibb's The Royal House of Stuart illustrated by a Series of Forty Plates in Colours (London, 1890), Richard R. Holmes's Queen Victoria (London, 1897, one of 350 copies on Japanese paper with an extra suite of plates), Andrew Lang's Prince Charles Edward (London, 1900, one of 350 copies) and Osmund Airy's Charles II (London, 1901, one of 1,250 copies).
