Hore presentes ad usum Sarum, Paris: Philippe Pigouchet for Simon Vostre 8 March 1502], printed on vellum, in Latin throughout with some English, 113 leaves only (of 128, lacks a1-8, b1, 3 leaves from signature n, o8, p8 and 3 leaves from final signature q), Gothic letter, 26 lines, 13 (of 15) large metalcuts, 9 further smaller metalcuts, each page within a border of little biblical subjects, dance of death, hunting and rustic scenes, etc., initials, paragraph marks and line fillers illuminated in liquid gold on alternating red and blue grounds, red-ruled, first leaf of each signature only signed and with 'S' indicating use of Sarum, early 17th-century ownership name of Will. Orton to lower margin of b4r and within blank area on e3r, some further pen strokes in margins of signature h and blank area of h7r, worm hole to first leaf (b2) and heavily soiled on recto with complete loss of legibility, occasional lighter soiling throuhgout and some old damp stains and heavier marginal soiling to first two signatures and final leaves with legibility issues to final leaf verso[? q6?], a few leaves closely trimmed at foremargin touching ornamental borders of larger metalcuts, all edges gilt, 19th-century straight-grain red morocco gilt, rubbed and slightly soiled, 8vo (171 x 101 mm) Hoskins, Horae 24.
