HOOGHE, Romeyn de (1645-1708). Korte Beschryving benevens eene naauwkeurige Afbeelding en verdere gezichten, van 'T Koninglyke Lusthuis 'T Loo op de Veluwe in Gelderland. Amsterdam: G.W. van Egmond, 1786. 8° (215 x 135mm.). 14 etched plates by de Hooghe, 13 double-page, one folding. Original boards (backstrip worn, stitching broken), modern leather-backed cloth box. Provenance : Hipp. Wouwermans (armorial bookplate, stamp). First publication in book form of these views of Het Loo, the most famous of King William III's Dutch estates. Built by Jacob Roman, the gardens were laid out by Roman and Daniel Marot and the statuary was designed by de Hooghe himself. The views were originally issued as the border to a large bird's-eye-view by de Hooghe in about 1700. The preface is anonymous. Landwehr Romeyn de Hooghe 109.
