Eleven of the photographs are from Captain Scott's 1910-13 "Terra Nova" expedition, for which Hebert Ponting was the official photographer, showing Ponting with various cameras and in his dark room, penguins, seals (including one enlarged duplicate), ice floes, the "Terra Nova" trapped in the ice, and on board the Terra Nova in a stormy sea.
