(1755-1834) Admiral Viscount Nelson (1758-1805), facing left in rear-admiral's undress, blue coat with gold buttons and gold epaulettes, white trousers and waistcoat, frilled cravat and black stock, wearing the breast star of red sash of the Order of the Bath and a Naval Gold medal suspended on a blue-bordered white ribbon about his neck, powdered hair signed on the obverse 'HBone' (lower left) and signed, inscribed and dated in full on the counter-enamel 'Admiral Lord Viscount Nelson Duke of Bronté, &c&c&c London Aug. t 1826 Painted by Henry Bone R. A. Enamel=painter to His Majesty & En l. painter to His R. H. the Duke of York &c &c After the Original by Abbott in the possession of Jeffrey Wyattville RA.
