Craig, Klapper, Feldstein & Fox stories. Johnny Craig Wally Wood, Al Feldstein & Harvey Kurtzman art, Johnny Craig cover. 1st issue. Formerly Gunfighter. Canadian version, with "A SUPERIOR PUBLICATION" surrounding the EC emblem in tiny print. Superior version of the 1st issue of Haunt of Fear. Superior's publisher, William Zimmerman, skirted Canadian laws prohibiting the sale of violent American comics by licensing EC titles and reprinting them on Canadian soil. Superior's schlocky line of horror mags were once derided as poor quality EC knockoffs, but collectors now value them for their eccentric genius. CGC census: No other Superior copies slabbed, apparently, in any grade. Four 3.5 copies of US version have been slabbed (two with purple label).
