HAMILTON, Emma, Lady (1761?-1815)]. Collection of correspondence, and manuscript and printed poems, the correspondence 26 January - 9 February 1815, comprising H. Lloyd (4 letters) and Hon. R.F. Greville (4 retained copies) relating to Emma Hamilton's death in Calais, and a resulting life insurance claim, together with 2 receipts for her funeral expenses (£28-10, paid by Henry Cadogan), a letter of John Jones in Calais reporting her death (26 January, 'I understand that she died in extreme povery') and two other letters; together with eight manuscript poems (two in Italian), contemporary neat copies of verses on Lord Nelson, Lady Hamilton and related subjects; and seven printed poems (two in Italian) on the same subjects, including the Ode of Ellis Cornelia Knight; laid on to leaves extracted from an album.
