Exceptionnel cartel d'applique dit «Pendule Moulin» à caisson cubique à découpe géométrique en chêne teinté souligné de barres latérales géminées et de plaques cloutés en laiton poli. Il présente un cadran à pans coupés à chiffres arabes dorés sur fond de verre américain bleu. Vers 1905. H: 70 cm l: 40 cm P: 21 cm Exceptional wall clock in tinted oak heightened with twin lateral bars and studded plates of polish steel. It has a dial with gold Arabian numbers on blue American glass. Circa 1905. Architecte de formation, il a apporté un élan créateur dans le courant International de l'Art Nouveau. Dès 1902, il se tourne vers l'esthétique industrielle. En 1903, il fonde avec un architecte parisien, René Dulong, la société «Serrurier et Cie». De 1903 à 1907, la maison produira ses plus belles réalisations. La pendule dite moulin créée pendant cette période, présente des formes logiques de construction géométriques, rationnelles et fonctionnelles égayées par des couleurs vives. On y retrouve dans ce petit chef-d'oeuvre les allusions symboliques de son créateur. He was trained as an architect and brought a new creative boost to the International Art Nouveau movement. In 1902 to turned towards a more industrial aesthetic and founded the company «Serrurier et Cie» with René Dulong, a Parisian architect. They produced their very best pieces between 1903 and 1907. The clock known as "windmill” created during this period, presents all the logical, rational and functional forms of geometrical construction enlivened by bright colours. One can see many of the artist's symbolic allusions in this small masterpiece
