Verso receipt for payment of “one half penny Sterling for an alienation fine on the lott [sic] of Ground Mentioned in the within Deed for the use of Lord Baltimore,” signed and dated by Edelen on March 19, 1768. The following day, Lord Baltimore was indicted for the abduction and rape of Sarah Woodcock, a milliner based outside of London. Creasing with light toning and a few small tears to edges. DS, 3pp, 8 x 12.75 in., Washington, DC. November 9, 1831.
