GROUP OF BASEBALL PHOTOS AND OTHER MEMORABILIA A group of various baseball memorabilia from the collection of Cedric Durst, an outfielder-first baseman with the New York Yankees from 1927-30. The lot is made up of ten photographs including a signed photograph of Bobby Feller with the inscription To Ced Durst with best of luck Bob Feller , a photograph of Walter Johnson and Babe Ruth at an old timers exhibition game, a photo of Babe Ruth with boxer James Braddock, a signed photo of the Montreal Royals minor league team featuring Don Newcombe, Al Gionfriddo and future television star Chuck Conners, two of what may be the first color photos of Jimmie Foxx along with other photos. Together with a booklet written by Yankee pitcher Waite Hoyt entitled BABE RUTH AS I KNEW HIM . The booklet published in 1948 includes numerous photographs. It is in fair condition but without a front and back cover. Also with the lot are four glass advertising tumblers made for Rawlings. (15)
