(Removed from Gosford Castle, Armagh, Ireland), comprising an extraordinary Series of County histories... Local Topography, Archeology, & Antiquities... London: Puttick & Simpson, 21 April 1884. 8 o (248 x 158 mm). List of Prices and Purchasers' Names. Original green cloth, sides decorated in blind, uncut. Provenance : A.N.L. Munby (bookplate, signature on flyleaf). Fine paper copy, with printed list of prices, and in a special binding. "In the early 'forties, the third Earl of Gosford had formed at Gosford Castle, in Ireland, a large and extremely beautiful library which was sold by private contract in 1878 to the London bookseller James Toovey... the history, topography, natural history and the important series of books on large paper were dispersed by Puttick and Simpson (21 April 1884), the total for 3,364 lots being over £11,000" (De Ricci).
