Walker with later-inserted tissue guard, 2 leaves of advertisements at end (light browning), stained calf gilt by Bayntun (upper cover detached), g.e. FIRST EDITION published in the year of Beau Nash's death. Rothschild 1022; Williams p. 130. [AUBREY, John. Lives in:] Letters written by eminent persons in the seventeenth and eighteenth centuries. To which are added, Hearne's Journey to Reading and to Whadon Hall, and Lives of Eminent Men by John Aubrey , London: for Longman, Hurst, Rees, Orme, and Brown, 1813. 2 volumes in 3, 8° (some spotting), mid 19th-century half calf and marbled boards, spines gilt with crowned cypher "BQ" at head (but relaid, pitted and partly discoloured, one lettering-piece torn with slight loss), red speckled edges. FIRST EDITION of Aubrey's Brief Lives in the collection often referred to as Letters from the Bodleian . LANDOR, Walter Savage. Imaginary Conversations of Literary Men and Statesmen [First series], London: for Taylor and Hessey, 1824. 3 volumes, 8°, half titles (slight browning to page edges), contemporary blue straight-grained morocco, wide gilt-ruled and tooled borders, front covers with centrally-placed monogram "E. D." (rebacked), plum-coloured silk doublures (slightly discoloured), marbled edges. FIRST EDITION. Lowndes IV, p. 1305. With the Private Correspondence of William Cowper ... in the possession of his kinsman John Johnson (2 vols., London, 1824), and E. J. Trelawny's Recollections of the last days of Shelley and Byron (London, 1858). (9)
