GHIYATH AL-DIN ABU'L-FATH 'UMAR IBN IBRAHIM AL-KHAYYAMI AL-NISHAPURI (1048-1131 AD): AL-QASIDAH AL-MAUSUMAH BI'L-MAUJAZA FI I'LM AL-JABR WA'L-MUQABALA POSSIBLY MECCA, 15TH CENTURY A poem entitled 'The Summary of Algebra and Almucabala', Arabic manuscript on paper, 11ff. plus 2 fly-leaves, each folio with approximately 23ll. of neat black naskh arranged in one or two columns, important words and phrases picked out in red, titles in larger red naskh , with possibly added colophon stating that the manuscript was copied by an 'Ali ibn Muhammad ibn Isma'il al-Zamzami al-Makki near the Ka'aba in Mecca, and with date of 9 Safar 841, lower margins severely water damaged and lacking, in paper boards with black morocco edges, yellow paper doublures Folio 10¼ x 7¼in. (26 x 18.2cm.)
