Beschreibung:

Georg Jensen An Art Nouveaux amber and agate tiara set with cabochon amber and green agate, mounted in silver. L. app. 18.0×3.5 cm. Georg Jensen 1912. According to the owner, commissioned in 1912 for the occasion of his grandmother's wedding. Presumably unique. Georg Jensen's designs are very often botanical, with naturalistic motifs, such as flowers, leaves and berries. They have a lifelike character, but they are in fact invented motifs inspired by nature. They are often set with semi-precious stones such as agate and amber. Almost always in the form of cabochons that intensifies the naturalistic look. The jewellery are almost allways made of silver, which Georg Jensen preferred, partly because it was less expensive than gold, but also because he liked the soft look of matte silver. The jewels were often oxidized to enhance lines and depth.
