Addressed to Ms. Lillie Lee. Hailing from a long line of military heroes, George Patton was determined to follow the traditions of his family and earn his place in military history. During World War II, his skill on the battlefield as well as his ruthless tactics resulted in the successful invasion of Italy on D-Day and liberation of France and Germany. He mysteriously died in a car crash soon after World War II, on December 21, 1945. Condition: Inked inscription on the cover from a previous owner that reads, Battle of the Buldge p. 15 as well as some minor wear and a small tear on the cover. The fist day issue has some minor soiling and pencil marks from the previous owner.
