His real name is Gade Tsering, but he is known simply as GADE in the art world. GADE grew up in a family of artists, and his father was a renowned Thangka painter. At a young age, GADE developed an interest in art and began experimenting with different mediums. He studied traditional Tibetan painting techniques under his father's guidance, but he also explored contemporary art forms. GADE's unique style is a fusion of traditional Tibetan art and modern Western techniques. In 1993, GADE moved to Beijing to study art at the Central Academy of Fine Arts. There, he was exposed to a wider range of artistic styles and began to develop his own unique style. He was particularly inspired by the work of artists such as Pablo Picasso and Jean-Michel Basquiat, who were known for their bold and expressive use of color and line. After completing his studies, GADE returned to Tibet and began to create art that explored the complexities of his identity as a Tibetan artist living in China. His work often addresses themes of cultural identity, political oppression, and social injustice. He uses bold colors and dynamic lines to express his emotions and convey his message. GADE has exhibited his work in galleries and museums around the world, including in China, Europe, and the United States. In 2003, he was awarded the Chinese National Art Exhibition's highest honor, the Gold Medal for Fine Arts. His work has also been featured in numerous publications and documentaries, and he is widely regarded as one of Tibet's most important contemporary artists.
