FULLER, John E. Telegraphic Computer, a most wonderful and extraordinary instrument, by which business questions, of every possible variety, are instantly performed. New York: John E. Fuller, proprietor, 1852. 4° (280 x 280mm.). Title mounted as front pastedown, 22 pp. stereotyped text, large folding engraved table mounted as rear pastedown, with loosely inserted double-sided dial (steel-engraved and on card, Palmer's Computing Scale. Improved by Fuller. on one side; Fuller's Time Telegraph. on the other). Original cloth, blocked in gilt and blind. Provenance : Col. Geo. C. Winslow (inscription 'Captured at Wilmington North Carolina... February 22 1865'). An extraordinary 'Victorian' curiosity, which according to the title 'occupied a prominent place at the Crystal Palace' and retailed at $6.00. The text is apparently fully explanatory, and 'a few hours Study and Practice will ensure facility in working the Instrument'.
