Set of 55 (of 100) pewter ingots issued by Franklin Mint to commemorate the Bicentennial. Also issued in sterling silver and in smaller sets of 70. Housed in wood and leather case with four trays which house 25 ingots each. Each ingot marked "Fine Pewter" on edge. Each ingot is numbered and features a scene from American history, starting with the Declaration of Independence - 1776 (#1). Incomplete, this set includes ingots #1-47, 49-55, and 57. Includes the Revolutionary, War of 1812, and Civil War eras, continuing to Western Expansion with Thousands Join Great Land Rush - 1889 (#57). Includes a small leatherette binder with a Certificate of Authenticity issued by the Franklin Mint, dated June 27, 1975 and information regarding the vignettes depicted on the ingots.
