N.B.Francesco Coleman was born in Rome in 1851. Like his father, English painter Charles Coleman and brother, Enrico, Francesco became a painter. He worked with both oils and watercolors. The crest in the center of the piece includes the motto of England, "Dieu et mon Droit" meaning "God and my right".
