Paper with typed description of the fragment, "Apollo 11 Film from the Moon. The attached film was carried on-board Apollo 11 on the historic flight to the moon, July 16-24, 1969. It was carried to the surface of the moon by the astronauts Neil A. Armstrong and Edwin E. Aldrin in the lunar module "Eagle" on July 20-21, 1969. The film is Eastman Kodak, type 3400, Panatomic-X. Richard W. Underwood. Supervisory Aerospace Technologist, Manned Spacecraft Center." Signed by Underwood in blue pencil on the slip of paper. The fragment measures ¼x½". A rare fragment of film brought aboard Apollo 11, and onto the surface of the moon when Neil Armstrong and Edwin Aldrin took their famous first steps. Marking one of man's most historic accomplishments, and fulfilling the goal of the late President John F. Kennedy, Apollo 11's Armstrong and Aldrin were the first men to walk on the moon. Lot Amendments Condition: The tape holding the fragment on the paper is yellowed; the fragment is not yellowed; else fine. Item number: 230239
