Beschreibung:

FLOWN ON APOLLO 12 – Lunar Module Interim Stowage Strap with Lunar Dust. Used aboard the Lunar Module Intrepid, this dusty strap logged over 31 hours on the Moon. Apollo 12 was the first lunar landing to perform two extensive surface explorations. During these Conrad and Bean accumulated a large amount of lunar dust on their space suits and flight equipment, including this strap. During their 31-hour surface stay, the strap was exposed to lunar dust carried into the LM by the crew. A copy of page 63 from the Apollo 12 stowage list is included, together with a two page analysis of the embedded material typed on Conrad's stationery. The strap is matted with an autograph manuscript card from Charles CONRAD, reading: "This 'Interim Stowage Strap,' part number SEB 33100015-302, S/N 1148 was flown to the lunar surface aboard the Lunar Module Intrepid during the flight of Apollo XII. It was used to secure lunar exploration equipment and logged over 31 hours on the moon’s surface during November 19-20, 1969. The strap is listed on page 63 of the Apollo XII stowage list. It has been in my personal collection since I returned from the moon." Brown Teflon fabric with 4 snap-button and 2 Velcro patches on each side. 0.75 by 10 inches. Strap and card archivally matted to 11.5 by 15 inches.
