FLOWN Cloth Gemini 5 Mission Patch. Circular patch (approx. 4 in.) of a covered wagon with the legend "8 days or bust" Matted and framed for display with a Cooper TLS between 2 describing the flight and stating that the patch is from his personal collection, and an autographed photo of the Gemini 5 crew after recovery. This design was the very first manned space flight crew mission patch and is from the first set of crew-flown mission patches. PATCH SIGNED BY CONRAD AND INSCRIBED AND SIGNED BY COOPER on reverse side: "Flown on the GT-5 flight, Gordon Cooper." Patch mounted on a typed letter signed by Cooper between 2 paragraphs describing the flight and stating that the patch is from his personal collection. PHOTOGRAPH INSCRIBED AND SIGNED BY CONRAD AND COOPER: "You need a shave! Charles Conrad" with a reply of "Maybe tomorrow! Gordon Cooper."
