FIVE VARIOUS GLASS OVERLAY SNUFF BOTTLES, the first of rounded rectangular shape carved in Seal School style through a brownish-green overlay with tree shrew clambering amidst fruiting vine stems to a milk-white ground; the second similarly carved through an emerald-green overlay with lotus finger-citrus and sampans below a tree and dragonflies to a white ground (rim chip); the third of flattened pear shape, carved through a dark-blue overlay with a lotus and peony issuing from rockwork, butterflies and lion-mask handles to a snowflake ground; the fourth of ovoid shape carved through a deep layer of flame glass with dragons chasing flaming pearls amidst clouds, to a swirling white ground (chipped); the last of flattened pear shape, carved through a layer of dark red glass with chrysanthemums and characters to a pale yellowish cream ground, 18th/19th Century - stoppers (5)
