Gilles of Corbeil, also known as Aegidius Corboliensis, was a French physician and humanist trained at the renowned medical schools of Salerno and Montpellier. This work—composed in Latin hexameters—is one of his three poetic treatises on the medical doctrines of Salerno (the other two are on urine and drugs).
