The Julius White Post No. 740 drew on a large membership in the city of Chicago, but "J.F. Crichton's" badge could not be further identified. Two possible "J. Crichton's" served from Illinois while HDS lists six men so-named and CWSS 17 veterans. The presentation badge retains its original folding leatherette case gold stencilled, "Chas. H. Pfeil/182 State Street/Chicago,Ill" with push-button closure. Condition: Metal parts now toned, near EXC. without noticable wear. Silk flag ribbon slightly frayed and faded. Composition case fragmenting with water damage on bottom.
