Fine 18th century English gold repoussé plunge repeating pair cased verge pocket watch, the gilt fusee movement signed John Gerrard, London with pierced engraved balance cock, diamond endstone, mask, flat steel three arm balance, silvered regulating disc, two hammers striking a bell and cylindrical pillars, signed dust cover, the dial with Roman numerals, minute markers and five minute divisions, gilt beetle and poker hands, inner gold pierced case engraved with floral, cherub and mask decoration and engraved initials, within an elaborately pierced and engraved gold outer case depicting classical figures, 53mm (see condition report) Movement - the movement is fully wound but not functioning consistently - requires a service/attention, the repeat operates but not smoothly and requires a service. Dial - good. Glass - light surface marks. Hands - good. Case - inner case with light surface marks, the outer case with damage to one of the pierced holes otherwise in good condition - see images, stem rubbed. - Condition reports are provided for general guidance only.
