Inscription l'intèrieur du couvercle de la boite: En commèmoration de l'Exposition d'Art pour les cèlèbrations de l'an 2600(kigen 2600 nen hoshuku bijutsu tenrankai kinen). Exècutè la fin de l'automne de l'annèe Showa kanoe tatsu (1940). Cette exposition d'Art, organisèe par le Ministère de l'Education, de la Science et de la Culture (monbusho) eut lieu en Avril et Novembre-Dècembre 1940 et fut l'une des nombreuses activitès organisèes pour cèlèbrer le 2600 ème anniversaire de la fondation du Japon qui, d'après la mythologie, eut lieu lorsque le premier empereur Jinmu accèda au trÙne. Tsuda Shinobu avait visitè l'exposition d'Art Dèco de 1925 Paris et c"est gr,ce cette influence qu'il contribua introduire l'Art Dèco au Japon. The Art Deco exhibition in Paris of 1925 which Tsuda Shinobu visited exercised a great influence on him and made him highly instrumental in bringing art deco to Japan. The title of the work written on the box sokujitsu hakko (the world at dusk) makes a reference to the biography of Emperor Jinmu in the ancient history Nihon shoki where the rare (Chinese) expression hakko is used in hakko ichu ("the world under one roof" or "as one family")
