Federal Cherry Tall Case Clock Daniel Scheidt, Sumneytown, Pennsylvania, late 18th/early 19th century The scrolled pediment with brass rosettes and three brass ball and spire finials above an arched door enclosing a painted dial with Arabic numerals and a moon phase indicator, over the case, door and a paneled base with a shaped apron, raised on straight bracket feet. Height 7 feet 9 inches 3/4 inches, width 20 1/2 inches, depth 11 1/4 inches. Provenance: Descended in family C
With two weights and a pendulum. Pendulum bent. Generally light color overall; expansion crack to hood above arch, very small old chips to front right facing of hood; moon phase indicator probably repainted; chips to cornice under hood (on case); few old chips/edgewear to case. Works probably associated.
