FAVIER, Pierre-Ignace-Eloi, Abbé (1701-1764) -- Catalogue des livres de la bibliothèque de feu Monsieur l'Abbé Favier, prêtre à Lille. Lille: F.J. Jacquez, 1765. 8 o (200 x 132 mm). Late 19th-century half cloth, marbled boards. PRICED in a contemporary hand. Lot 1 is a Gutenberg Bible "Biblia Moguntina. Editio vetustissima, 2 vol. fol. v." which realized 2,025 francs. De Ricci, "Mayence," 1911 lists it among the lost copies. "According to Danchin, eager Lille booksellers distributed the catalogue before it could be approved by the censors, and the auction was nearly cancelled by the authorities over the inclusion of heretical and licentious books, 26 of which were eventually removed from the sale" (North).
