Signature on old ledger page, May 25, 1871, 8vo, docketed by G.M. Maddox. (Petersen XIV.1). -- Handbill announcing that business will be closed on the day of Faulkner's funeral. Petersen XVI.2 -- "The Marionettes," typescript, 2 pages, two versions of the opening passages of Faulkner's play, one with annotations on layout changes, the second incorporating those changes. Provenance : Bonham's Los Angeles, 27 July 2006, lots 3158, 3163 and 3165 (partial).

Also includes a collection of scholarly proofs and transcripts sent to Carl Petersen including transcripts of 50 interviews with people who knew Faulkner in 6 binders (Carvel Collins, Malcom Cowley, Jill Faulkner Summers, George Plimpton, Tennessee Williams, Lauren Bacall, Joan Williams approximately 500 pages. And other page proofs relating to Brodsky's bibliography, the Petersen bibliography and others. Provenance : Bonham's Los Angeles, 27 July 2006, lot 3165 (partial).
