Modern red half calf, somewhat worn, preserving original marbled boards, gilt spine in six compartments, marbled edges. Vol. I partly dampstained in lower part, otherwise some foxing and staining. Bookplate of Christopher Cole. Large paper copy. 2 vol. Photo. John Malcolm (1769-1833) visited Persia three times on diplomatic missions. His History begins with the old legendary kings and ends with the beginning of the Qajars. An important book on the history of Persia.
