Includes a half-plate tintype of a woman with five children; in a half-case with label on back indicating: "Annie Gregory, Will Simons, Kate R. Simons, Anne Buckley, Sarah K. Simons, James Simons, c. 1863." Quarter plate tintype of what is probably a family, two adults, young boy and his older sister. In a half case. Sixth plate ambrotype with labels: Grandma Hayne's Father and Mother. Their name was Ash. Grandma Ash died in 1878, i[n] the month of January. And: "Samuel & Sabarina (Dexter) Ash. Great great grandparents. She was born in 1796 and died in January of 1878 in N.H. (82) She made the pin-cushion that I have in the case." In a full case. Sixth plate tintype of a man wearing what appears to be a military-style frock coat, but image is just a bit dark. In a half case. Another sixth plate tintype is a bit blurred. It almost appears to be a photo of a painting. The man wears a militia, or possibly European, uniform. Ninth plate ambrotype with label: Aunt Julia Howland & Uncle Will Haynes. With tinting of cheeks. In a full case. Brown Union case with two ninth plate tintypes, one of a young woman, the other of a toddler. Case slightly "cocked." Dark Union case with one ninth plate tintype of a soldier, image with gilt highlights on buttons. 2 x 3.5 in album with deeply embossed leather covers, gilt highlights. Each page with two "gem"-sized tintypes - 48 in all. Three-part frame with cdvs. Left side with an officer, center with a young woman, right with a younger man in some kind of uniform (could be occupational). Plus a dance card that appears to be a miniature book with "FASC. 27 Jan. 1863" on cover. Only front cover opens with "Vohr der Ruhe" and "Nach der Ruhe" (literally before and after resting - probably indicating a break in the dances) on "endpapers." Each of these opens and has lines for Waltz, Quadrille, Polka, etc. Suspended from a pin (with a "G" clef) by a chain. Condition: Overall very good.
