[c.1500?], 1 page, oblong, defective along right-hand edge with loss of several words, repaired from verso, slight spotting , a formal letter thanking Bruse for his support and favors in the past and recommending the bearer, Wyot [Wyatt?]. and praying that he be given credence. Rare. -- CHARLES II. Letter signed ("Charles R") to Sir John Laurence, Lord Mayor of London; Whitehall, 14 November 1664, 1 page, folio, integral blank, Good letter regarding a complaint brought by Sackville Whittle "one of our Chirurgiens in ordinary," whose "apprentice Henry Wingfield, who hath served him Foure years in the Trade and Mystery of a Chirurgeon...is endeavouring to withdraw himself from his said Master's service..." Laurence is specially asked to look into the case, so that "Servants may not be encouraged to leave their Masters upon slight Grounds..." -- JAMES II.
