[ENCYCLOPEDIE] DE FELICE, Fortunato Bartolomeo (1723-1789) - Encyclopedie, ou dictionnaire universel raisonne des connoissances humaines. Yverdon: s.e. [Societe typographique de Berne], 1770-1780. The Encyclopedie in the edition edition curated by De Felice. Fortunato Bartolomeo didn't only copy the text and plates by Diderot and D'Alambert but enriched the work with many contributions from intellectuals exiled in Switzerland. It is for these reasons that the Yverdon Encyclopedie, which is very accurate and with a modern European vision, was able to achieve great success. 58 volumes, 4to (259 x 230mm). of which 42 of text, 6 of supplement and 10 of plates with 1262 engravings (of which 139 double-page), vignettes on titles and headpieces (some scattered browning and light staining in text, few small wormholes in vol. III, some waterstaining in vol. V of plates with small losses to few leaves, some waterstaining at top margin of vol. VI of the plates). Contemporary mottled calf, mainly uniform, gilt spines with title and numbering on label, red edges, marbled endpapers (some scuffing and rubbing, vol. IV with chipped spine). The vols have been checked and collated, but the work is sold not subject to return. (58)
